Over-roof awnings are installed above a glass canopy, patio roof or conservatory-style structure. They reduce direct sunlight before it reaches the transparent roof, helping to lower glare and heat build-up in the covered area.
Because the fabric is positioned externally, the system also shades the roof surface itself. Exposure, cleaning requirements and the manufacturer’s operating limits should be considered when selecting the final system.

Under-Roof Awnings
Under-roof awnings are installed below a glass or polycarbonate roof. They are a good choice when the roof already provides rain protection but the covered area still needs adjustable shade and glare reduction.
Because the awning is positioned beneath the roof, the fabric and mechanism are less exposed to direct rain, wind and debris. This can make under-roof systems easier to maintain, depending on the structure and installation conditions.
