The structure provides weather protection for pupils and staff entering and leaving the building and also creates a sheltered outdoor area that can be used during breaks and periods of rain. The sides remain open to preserve straightforward access and visibility around the entrance.

Polycarbonate Entrance Canopy for a School in Cashel
The main purpose of this project was to provide permanent overhead protection around an existing school entrance and the pedestrian area immediately outside the building.
A made-to-measure aluminium structure was designed around the available space, allowing the canopy to cover the approach to the entrance without enclosing the route with additional side walls.
The fixed polycarbonate roof provides protection from rainfall while allowing daylight into the covered area. This helps retain a bright and open environment around the school entrance.
The open-sided configuration maintains visibility and uncomplicated pedestrian movement between the building and the surrounding school grounds. The covered area can also provide pupils and staff with temporary shelter during breaks or wet weather.
Rainwater is managed through the drainage system integrated into the aluminium structure. The existing base was retained, and no lighting, heating, screens or other additional equipment formed part of this installation.
Commercial Aluminium Canopy for an Educational Facility
School entrance canopies need to work around existing doors, pedestrian routes and everyday access requirements. In this case, the aluminium structure was planned specifically around the existing entrance area rather than creating a separate enclosed shelter.
