AVC Build delivered two made-to-measure aluminium shelter structures for a Garda station in Drogheda, County Louth, in 2026. Commissioned by the Office of Public Works, the project was completed by AVC Build as a specialist aluminium structures subcontractor under Broomfield Construction.
The project included two separate structures serving different requirements: an open bicycle shelter for covered parking and an enclosed secure storage shelter with aluminium walls and two automatic roller shutters.

Two Purpose-Built Aluminium Shelters for a Garda Station
This public-sector project required two separate aluminium structures serving different operational needs at the Garda station site.
The first structure is an open bicycle shelter providing permanent overhead weather protection while keeping access completely open. The second is an enclosed secure storage shelter with solid aluminium walls and controlled access.
The enclosed structure uses aluminium tongue-and-groove wall panels together with a trapezoidal sheet roof with fleece. Two automatic roller shutters provide separate access points while allowing the storage area to remain enclosed when not in use.
Both structures were supplied with a light-grey factory-applied protective finish, giving the two installations a consistent appearance despite their different functions.
The project developed from an initial 3D visualisation through to on-site assembly and final installation. AVC Build worked as a specialist subcontractor under Broomfield Construction, coordinating its aluminium structures package within the wider project.
This project demonstrates how different aluminium shelter configurations can be developed within the same site package: an open weather-protection structure alongside a fully enclosed secure storage solution.
