AVC Build designed, supplied, delivered and professionally installed this made-to-measure wall-mounted aluminium entrance canopy for a Centra store in Roscommon, County Roscommon, in 2026. The black aluminium frame and clear polycarbonate roof create a permanently covered approach to the retail entrance while maintaining natural daylight and open access.
The structure also protects the area used for shopping trolleys and temporary retail displays. Front support posts were positioned around the existing entrance layout, while the canopy was connected to the building’s textured stone façade.

Covered Access for a Busy Centra Store Entrance
The store required a permanent covered approach that would protect customers entering and leaving the premises in wet weather. The canopy also provides overhead protection for the shopping trolley area and temporary retail displays while keeping the entrance visible and accessible.
A made-to-measure wall-mounted aluminium canopy was designed around the existing shopfront. The black frame works with the building’s darker architectural details, while the clear polycarbonate roof allows daylight to reach the entrance below.
The existing façade includes projecting textured stonework rather than a simple flat rendered wall. The canopy-to-wall connection therefore required careful detailing and sealing around the uneven surface to provide reliable weather protection at the junction.
The existing paved base was retained. Front support posts were positioned around the entrance layout and securely fixed to the prepared surface, while roof water is handled through the drainage system integrated into the aluminium structure.
The Centra store remained accessible while the installation was completed, so the work was planned around continued customer access. No additional side walls, lighting or other optional equipment were installed as part of this project.
