Covered Access for a Busy Centra Store Entrance
The store required a permanent covered approach that would protect customers entering and leaving the premises in wet weather. The canopy also provides overhead protection for the area used by shopping trolleys and temporary retail displays while keeping the entrance clearly visible and accessible.
A made-to-measure wall-mounted aluminium canopy was designed around the existing shopfront. The black frame complements the building’s dark architectural finishes, while the clear polycarbonate roof allows daylight to pass through to the entrance below.
The textured façade was formed from projecting stonework, creating a more demanding wall connection than a flat rendered surface. AVC Build carefully detailed and sealed the interface between the canopy and the uneven stonework to provide reliable weather protection at the wall junction.
The existing paved base was retained, with the support posts positioned and securely fixed around the entrance layout. The canopy also incorporates its standard integrated rainwater drainage system to collect roof water and direct it through the structure.
The Centra store remained accessible while the work was completed, so the installation was planned to minimise disruption and preserve safe customer access. No additional side walls, lighting or other optional equipment were included.
