AVC Build designed, supplied, delivered and professionally installed this made-to-measure freestanding aluminium shelter at a school in Cashel, County Tipperary, in 2026. The black structure combines a clear polycarbonate roof with a vertically oriented aluminium Diamond-shaped wall, creating a covered outdoor area with additional wind protection and privacy.
The shelter was designed around the existing school site. Front supports were installed on client-prepared concrete foundations using anchored U-profiles, while the rear supports were fixed to the existing concrete wall.

A Sheltered and More Private Outdoor Space for the School
The school required a practical covered outdoor area that would provide protection from exposed weather and unwanted views while remaining straightforward to access and use.
A made-to-measure freestanding aluminium shelter was designed with a black frame and clear polycarbonate roof. The roof protects the area from rainfall while allowing daylight into the space below.
A vertically oriented aluminium Diamond-shaped wall was installed on one side of the shelter. The solid aluminium wall provides additional protection from wind and improves privacy without turning the structure into a fully enclosed room.
The installation also had to work with the existing site. The client prepared concrete foundations for the front supports, where AVC Build anchored U-profiles before installing the aluminium posts. At the rear, support posts were fixed to the top of the existing concrete wall.
A metal fence already installed along the rear wall restricted access to the fixing area. The installation was therefore planned around the existing fence and completed without requiring its removal. Rainwater is managed through the drainage system integrated into the aluminium shelter.
