Large Glass Roof Installation in Bantry
The homeowner wanted to transform the long outdoor area beside the house into a substantial sheltered space for relaxing outdoors. A transparent roof was essential because the new structure needed to protect the area from Irish weather without significantly reducing the natural light reaching the house.
The resulting wall-mounted pergola extends across a large section of the property. Its black aluminium frame follows the length of the house, while the open-sided configuration preserves views, ventilation and easy access to the surrounding outdoor space.
The size of the roof and the weight of its individual glass panels made installation more demanding than a standard compact pergola. AVC Build used specialist glass-lifting equipment to raise, control and accurately position the large panels safely on the prepared aluminium framework.
The ground beside the property did not have prepared structural foundations for the support posts. AVC Build excavated dedicated post holes and secured the supports permanently in concrete, providing a stable base for the long wall-mounted structure.
The completed glass roof provides reliable overhead protection while allowing daylight to pass through across the full covered area. AVC Build completed the design, made-to-measure supply, delivery, foundation preparation and professional installation. The aluminium structure is supported by a 10-year structural warranty.
