AVC Build completed this made-to-measure wall-mounted aluminium patio canopy at a residential property in County Leitrim. The black aluminium structure covers the outdoor area directly behind the house, providing protection from rain and intense sunshine and creating a more sheltered space for everyday outdoor use.

Creating a Sheltered Outdoor Area Behind the House
The main objective of this project was to make the exposed outdoor area at the rear of the property more practical during changing weather conditions. The homeowner wanted overhead protection from rain as well as stronger periods of sunshine while keeping the area directly connected to the house.
A made-to-measure wall-mounted aluminium canopy was designed to follow the available space between the different sections of the rear elevation. The black structure creates one continuous covered area without requiring a separate freestanding shelter elsewhere in the garden.
The photographs show how the canopy spans the existing hard-surfaced area and connects with the house while leaving the front of the space open. This retains straightforward access from the surrounding outdoor area and from the doors positioned beneath the canopy.
The completed structure changes an exposed section behind the house into a more sheltered area that can be used more reliably despite rain or periods of intense sunshine.
