The black aluminium frame supports an extensive roof formed from large individual glass panels, creating a substantial sheltered outdoor area beside the home while retaining natural daylight.

Installing a Large Glass Roof with Specialist Lifting Equipment
The homeowner wanted to transform the long outdoor area beside the house into a substantial sheltered space while retaining the natural light reaching the property. A wall-mounted glass-roof pergola provided permanent overhead protection without enclosing the sides of the outdoor area.
The completed structure extends across a large section of the house. Its black aluminium frame follows the length of the property, while the open-sided layout maintains views, ventilation and convenient access to the surrounding outdoor space.
The size of the roof and the weight of the individual glass panels made installation more demanding than on a smaller pergola. AVC Build used specialist glass-lifting equipment to raise, control and accurately position the large panels onto the prepared aluminium roof framework.
The area beside the property did not already have structural foundations suitable for the pergola support posts. AVC Build excavated dedicated post holes and secured the supports permanently in concrete, providing a stable foundation for the long wall-mounted structure.
The completed glass roof provides continuous overhead weather protection while allowing daylight through across the covered area. The combination of the extensive glass surface and open sides keeps the finished outdoor space visually bright and connected to the surroundings.
AVC Build completed the design, made-to-measure supply, delivery, foundation preparation and professional installation. The completed aluminium pergola is supported by a 10-year structural warranty.
